Hi!
       My name is Lindsay and I am a third year Biochemistry major at the University of California, Riverside. While I thoroughly enjoy my science classes, I feel as though humanity courses teach very valuable life lessons that enable students to better understand and appreciate each other. Therefore, I plan to double major in either women's studies or political science this year. My goal is to get into medical school; I am not sure what kind of physician I would like to be yet, but I would love to work for Doctors Without Borders some day. I work on an independent research project with a great profesor at school, I volunteer at a local hospital, I am a girl scout leader, and I am involved with a peer mentoring program that aims to help pre-med students during their freshman year of college. I did not participate in many activities prior to college, but I feel as though the past few years have been the most rewarding of my life thanks to the community service I have been able to be a part of.
          Some friends and I are hoping to start a political club this year that involves activism, and doing our part to end American apathy, which I am really looking forward to. I am extremely lucky to have an amazing boyfriend that is very hard-working and inspirational. In fact, I am very lucky all around, and I have never experienced any true hardship. I plan to work to the best of my abilities to help others who have not been so fortunate.
